6th Annual Halloween Spooktacular

OCT 26, 2025

Thanks to the tremendous help of The Anderson School, Trinity School, Annunciation, and Advent NYC, we distributed costumes to 97 kids for our Halloween event this year! Thanks to all of our Amazing Volunteers as well who helped sort and collect costumes in addition to running the store!

Special shout out to our Youth Advisory Board members Ryan and Eleanor for their amazing efforts planning and hosting!

Check out the video made by our very own YAB member, Eleanor with the highlights!

BACK TO SCHOOL CELEBRATION

AUG 25 & AUG 29

Together, we helped 113 kids head back to school with backpacks, supplies, and big smiles - and it was only possible because of YOU.

We’re especially grateful to our community partners: Westside Commons, Advent NYC, and Piper Sandler - for opening their doors, serving as donation drop-off sites, and even jumping in to volunteer. Your generosity and teamwork helped turn this vision into reality.

To our donors: every notebook, calculator, and water bottle you shared truly mattered. To our families: thank you for trusting us to be part of your back-to-school journey. Your smiles and energy are what make Nice Ninjas so special.

2nd Annual End of School Celebration

(aka Birthdays, Books and Boardgames)

JUNE 19 & 20, 2025

From tiny dogs to big laughs, our 2nd Annual Birthdays, Books & Boardgames celebration was pure magic!  Because of our very generous community, we were are to :

📚 Collect and redistribute thousands of children’s books, board games, and small toys
🎈 Welcomed 111 children from across NYC to “shop” for free
🙌 Mobilized 30+ volunteers, ages 10 to 92, to decorate, sort, and spread joy
🌭 Made sure every single child left with books, games, a birthday box, a tiny dog plush, healthy snacks, and a hot dog or sandwich, because kindness should always come with a side of fun (and a snack!)

One of our elementary aged participants, 8-year-old Najat, said it best:

“This was the best day of my life.”

That’s the power of community. That’s the impact of kindness.

Special Thanks To Our Event Sponsors:

💛 Piper Sandler, 🙏 Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church and 🏠 Advent Lutheran Church

DEAR SANTA

December 2024

This past December, with the help of our amazing community of friends and family, Nice Ninjas teamed up with some hardworking parents and Santa Claus himself to bring holiday magic to our neighbors.

Together, we made sure 44 families had the Christmas they deserved — filled with joy, dignity, and gifts under the tree.

Special Thanks to all the Nice Ninja Elves who helped and a big shout out to our amazing wrappers: Suki, EJ and Sasha!

HALLOWEEN SPOOKTACULAR

October 20, 2024

Thank you so much for making our Halloween Spooktacular Costume Giveaway a huge success! Because of your generosity and enthusiasm, 124 kids in our community will enjoy Halloween with big smiles, dressed in costumes they love. Your support means so much—these costumes bring joy and make this Halloween unforgettable for so many.

A special thank you to Advent Lutheran Church for providing the space and Trinity School for their collection efforts—your partnerships are invaluable to a small charity like ours. And an extra HUGE thank you to all the volunteers who helped set up, worked in the Halloween store, and cleaned up afterward. We couldn’t have done it without you!

Back to School Giveaway

August 17, 2024

Thank you all so much for your incredible support in making our event a success! Whether you contributed items, funds, time, energy, or love, please know that it was deeply appreciated by the young people and their families in our community!

Thanks to your generous donations, we were able to provide school supplies, books, games, and even to-go dinners (complete with dessert!) for 98 kids. This amazing outcome wouldn’t have been possible without your kind hearts and dedication to the community. And here’s some exciting news – that number is about to go up! We’ve received a few late deliveries and last-minute donations, so we’ll be setting up a mini version of our store soon to extend the fun to more kids. If you'd like to help out, just respond to this email, and we'll keep you updated as we finalize the details.

A big shoutout to our community partners who came together with Nice Ninjas to make this happen: Advent NYC, Annunciation Church, and Trinity School.

Birthdays + Books +

Board Games

June 14, 2024

During the month of June, we collected books, board games, and toys to redistribute those gently used items to kids to get a jump start on their summer activities. Birthday Party Kits were also supplied by Piper Sandler and were given to each kid for the next family birthday or celebration. YAY!This event was definitely a fan favorite for the guests and volunteers alike!  Save the date for next year, tentatively scheduled for June 20.

National Random Act of Kindness Day

February 17, 2024

On February 17th, Nice Ninjas distributed Friendship Bracelets with notes of encouragement to kids visiting a food pantry on the Upper West Side.  Leading up to 2/17, nearly 30 volunteers lovingly crafted almost 100 bracelets!!

Special Thanks to Girl Scout Troop 3209, Trinity School, Advent NYC & all my friends who made bracelets and wrote kind notes for our first friendship bracelet give-a-way event.  You helped make this February 17th a little brighter for kids in our community.

The Beginning...

Nice Ninjas was born out of a joke between my mom & I doing small acts of kindness in our neighborhood... lots of times without people really even knowing...we said "we moved like Ninjas"  And that's how it all started...

THANKS to everyone who supported us since the beginning and a special shout out to our neighbor Joe S who helped get the text added and the logo formatted all pro bono and out of the kindness of his heart.  One of our very first Nice Ninjas!
