Dr. Karima Forbes

Karima A. Forbes PhD is a mother, a wife, a Licensed Clinical Psychologist, an Organizational Consultant, and an Adjunct Professor. She is currently the COO of WorkHaven, a boutique consulting firm, and has her own private practice, Bloom Psychological and Wellness Consulting, where she provides virtual and in-person psychotherapy to adolescents and adults across a wide range of mental health-related issues with specializations in reproductive mental health (specifically maternal fetal mental health and fertility), trauma, and identity-related issues.
Dr. Forbes has worked in multiple hospital contexts including an acute inpatient setting for nearly a decade. In all contexts of her work, she is dedicated to diversity-related issues and has been selected on multiple occasions to provide national DEIB-related trainings and webinars, for organizations such as the Dept. of Veterans Affairs, focused on topics including, but not limited to, navigating discussions effectively about race and racism and understanding the psychological effects of racism. Dr. Forbes’ passion for DEIB ties closely with her passion for overall wellness for individuals and organizations. She firmly believes that DEIB goes beyond mere letters; it's a powerful call to recognize individuals in their entirety, fostering environments where everyone can truly thrive.
